Amber heat health alerts extended for the East Midlands, East of England, London, West Midlands, South East and South West

Extended amber alerts will now be in place until Sat 15 Aug at 10am. Alerts in the North East, North West and Yorkshire and the Humber have not been extended and are in place until 9pm on Fri 14 Aug. More information.

Data showing rates of Lyme disease infection in England is now available as part of the vector-borne diseases theme.

This includes the number of confirmed cases in laboratories in England per 100,000 population disaggregated by age and sex. More information can be found in the metrics documentation.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted to humans through the bite of infected ticks. If diagnosed early, it is highly treatable with antibiotics, but can lead to severe issues if left untreated.
