21 November 2024: COVID-19 positivity metrics not updated

An technical issue has prevented UKHSA from updating COVID-19 positivity. Work is underway to resolve the issue and resume reporting as soon as possible. The data presented was last updated on 7 November 2024.

On 4 January 2024, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) stopped publishing data on deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of death occurrence. This data was previously used to create the deaths charts and headline numbers on the UKHSA data dashboard.

As the data is no longer being updated, we have changed the dashboard to show deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of registration. This data is also published by ONS, and is aggregated by week instead of presented by day.

Data for daily deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of death occurrence up to 29 December 2023 is still available to download from the dashboard, and all data on deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate can also be found on the ONS website.
